"The Cross My Heart Cards story begins in an extra bedroom of a duplex in Dallas, Texas with an artist (Rosanne Herskind), a card table, a set of water color paints, and a growing word-of-mouth invitation business. The first invitation was designed for a Mexican Fiesta she was giving herself. The reply cards came back with comments like, “cute invitation,” and “where did you get these?” Cross My Heart Cards was born.

A year later, her whimsical hand-painted invitations and announcements were being sold in 25 retail stores across the country. In 1993, the company decided to exhibit at the National Stationery Show in New York. The response overwhelmed the tiny booth and by the end of the show Cross My Heart Cards saw its retailer list grow ten fold. "
